‘Permanent Health Insurance’ Westminster Hall debate by Clive Efford MP debated the increasing wrongful denial of PHI claims.

What: This debate on the last parliamentary day was after a decade of wrongful denial of private insurance claims complained of by constituents by many insurance companies (via reinsurance arrangement) but particularly by Unum and particularly for certain disabilities such as ME (increasingly referred to as CFS).

Why significant: The last parliamentary Westminster Hall debate of the millennium in 21 December 1999 also forewarned of the issues to come about fraudulent private insurance practices particularly by Unum about to be co-opted and used inside the DWP for social security across the whole UK population.
